Call to Order:
John Schultz welcomed back Rev. McWhorter after surgery.

Introduction of Guests: Charles Viar (member from Jackson, TN) and Victoria and Michael Cruikshanks

Announcements

  • Lee said that Clanjamfry will be held September 21-23 and will include 14 clans, dance competition, bands, etc. Saturday night the Scottish band Bodega will play.
  • Posters and t-shirts will be available at the next MSSI meeting.
  • Celtic Fest – Charles Viar announced that the Celtic Fest, sponsored by the Celtic Society of West Tennessee, will be held in Jackson, TN, Saturday, November 3, at Casey Jones Village. 2500-3000 people are expected. A handout was given to all members.
  • The new MSSI phone number is 757-4200 and can be used for reservations or any other questions or concerns.
  • Mary Lewis is in charge of the photo gallery for the Scottish Society and the website.


Program – Scotland 101, Session 2

  • Seldon Murray – The Ice Age – Alexander III
  • Bud Hiskey – Alexander III – Reformation
  • John Schultz – Reformation and its effects on the Scottish Church/Presbyterian Church
An excellent presentation was given by all three members and the program was also videotaped.

Door Prizes:
Door prizes were awarded to Margaret Zavodny and Kathy Schultz

Conclusion:
John thanked everyone for coming and our next program will be given by Dr. John Simmons on Modern Jacobites.
